Books & Brunch, aka The Yummy Book Club, meets the 2nd Sunday of every month at 1:00pm. Each class combines books and food. You may come whenever the subject appeals to you. (We will have books and movies for you to check out, available at the previous month’s lunch, and held at the desk if you wish to pick them up later.) Questions? Read Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” and bring a snack for a Victorian Tea.
Read “City Baker’s Guide to Country Living,” a novel by Louise Miller, and make a recipe.
Read “Like Water for Chocolate,” by Laura Esquivel, and make your favorite chocolate recipe.
Read “Out of the Dust,” by Karen Hesse, and make any economical recipe (appropriate to The Depression).
Read a book about your favorite president, and make a recipe appropriate to that era.
Read ” Animal, Vegetable, Miracle” by Barbara Kingsolver, and make any recipe that includes a food that you would not want to live without.
Read ‘Fried Green Tomatoes,” by Frannie Flagg, and bring any dish suitable for a barbecue.
Watch “Ratatouille” and make any French recipe. <p/p>
