From October through December 31st, 2022, Swissvale Library presents If a Tree Falls in the Forest…, a show featuring the work of artists from Creative Citizen Studios (CCS). CCS is a small nonprofit serving folks with developmental and physical disabilities who are passionate about art.
In this mixed media collection of fall tree imagery, CCS artists explore the theme of growth as CCS celebrates its 10th season of programming.
For this collection, artists created observational drawings of trees, then hand carved linoleum blocks with botanically correct leaf imagery, and printed the results on rice paper in brilliant colors. Shibori indigo dyeing set the backdrop for acrylic paints and collage, making this CCS collection a unique expression of tree-themed imagery. Look for tree puns and clever references among the displayed works!
The exhibit is available for viewing through December 31st, 2022, at the Swissvale Library during regular library hours: Monday – Thursday 10am – 7pm; Friday 10am – 4pm; Saturday 9am – 4pm.
