Allegheny County Library Association Summer Reading

In an unprecedented show of collaboration, ACLA and its member libraries have come together to provide an extensive slate of programs for the entire county and surrounding areas, as well as partners in the region. We encourage you to explore the many engaging activities and hope this is your destination for family entertainment and discovery this summer. Learn more about ACLA summer reading


For Children

Grab & Go Kits

New Grab-and-Go kits are released on the second Monday of the month! Drop by the library for a simple STEAM activity to do at home!

Outdoor Story Time

Tuesdays at 11:00 a.m. • Library lawn

Stories, songs, rhymes, and activities on the lawn, weather-permitting, and downstairs if it doesn’t.

Minecraft

Mondays at 4:00 pm • Virtual

For school-age kids and tweens. Play Minecraft online with your friends! We play using Java Edition, which is incompatible with phones and mobile devices. Contact Miss Cece for login information or if you have any questions (caroc@einetwork.net).

Stories on Saturday

Saturdays at 11:00 am – 4:00 pm

Join us for an all-ages storytime with Miss Cece. Come for stories and stick around for a fun activity. Can’t make it? The stories and activity will be here all day, so drop in and check them out at your convenience!


For Teens

Tween & Teen Time

Thursdays at 3:00 pm

For tweens and teens. Come hang out at the library with Cody. We’ll do a different activity every week, ranging from debates to scavenger hunts to making origami. Come check it out!

Watch It Wednesdays

Wednesdays at 4 p.m.

For tweens and teens. Join us downstairs in the basement to watch fun anime and movies – with snacks!


For Adults

Crafting Corner

Every other Tuesday, 5 – 6 p.m.

Feeling like you don’t have enough time to finish up that craft project you’ve been working on? Bring your supplies and yourself here, and take some time to work on it!

Computer Tutor

Thursdays from 11 am to 2 pm

Sign up for a 30 minute session to get help with using and navigating your device! Note: we cannot help with hardware issues. To sign up: visit or call the library or email Erin at caine2@einetwork.net.
