Give Big Pittsburgh

Help us restore our 103-year-old flagpole on Big Give Tuesday, December 2, 2025.

In 1922, the American Veterans of Foreign Wars presented the library with the impressively tall flagpole located at the front north corner of the yard. The flagpole proudly waves our American flag as it has for 103 years, through times of war and peace, good times and bad. The flagpole has been hidden behind trees and the memorial and was not easy to see. Now that it’s visible, it’s clearly showing its age with a lot of rust.

The cost for the flagpole restoration is $23K. We’ve already received $1,000, a generous donation by AMVETS POST 60 and SONS OF AMVETS SQUADRON 60.

Donate online or bring your donation to the library on Tuesday December 2nd.
